JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Joshua Rashaad Davis was sentenced to a mandatory 45 years in prison on Thursday.

The 19-year-old pled guilty last month to two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and one count of Carrying a Concealed Firearm, according to a news release from State Attorney Angela Corey's office.

In February, Davis and  two friends were inside Regency Square Mall when Davis pulled out a handgun and fired at a man inside the Finish Line store.

The bullet hit an innocent bystander, Manisa Sapkota, in the shoulder area. Sapkota was working at a kiosk just outside of the store. The 34-year-old has recovered from her injuries.

Assistant State Attorney Joseph Sonson prosecuted the case.
