BlackFinn Goes Red and Raises Green for the American Heart Association

BlackFinn American Grille recently wrapped up a successful month-long fundraising and awareness campaign entitled “Go Red” in conjunction with American Heart Month.

Throughout February, BlackFinn cooked up special heart-healthy food and drink features, with proceeds from each sale benefiting the First Coast American Heart Association (AHA). In addition, BlackFinn also hosted a Go Red Happy Hour on February 4 featuring additional heart-healthy items, raffles and giveaways. In total, BlackFinn raised over $1,100 for the AHA. BlackFinn American Grille is located at 4840 Big Island Drive adjacent to St. Johns Town Center in the Markets at Town Center.

“The American Heart Association is a tremendous organization and we were eager to help them with their fundraising efforts during the month of February,” said Mark Szymanski of BlackFinn. “BlackFinn strives to be an integral part of the communities it serves and we look forward to helping more charities and organizations throughout the year.”

Cardiovascular disease, including stroke, is the No. 1 killer in America and since 1963, February has been recognized as American Heart Month by the United States Government. During American Heart Month, the American Heart Association strives to raise funds for research and education and to pass along information about heart disease and stroke. The American Heart Association also created Go Red for Women – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
