Jacksonville University unveils historic $85 million ASPIRE fundraising campaign

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Marking a seminal point in its nearly 80-year history, Jacksonville University publicly unveiled its $85 million ASPIRE Campaign Friday, Nov. 30, announcing bold plans to move the university dramatically forward with new scholarship and research funds, state-of-the-art health sciences facilities, vastly improved athletics venues, a robust endowment and more.

What: The Strom River Jam is a free public music fest with a lineup of exciting Dolphinium Records artists, including popular East Coast band Chroma and American Idol Season 8 contestant AJ Neaher. The event includes recognition of Jacksonville University alumnus Larry Strom, whose generous donation made possible the newly opened Larry Strom Amphitheatre on Dolphin Green at JU. The fest is also serving as a “learning lab” for JU Artist and Concert Management students, who are helping plan its promotion, merchandising, sales and logistics. JU students will be served dinner on the river as well. Concessions will be available.

When: 4:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5.

Open to all artists 18 or older living in the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Open to all Media. Work must be available for sale (35% commission). Each artist selected will mount 3-5 works. past 30 years. How public education has taken a turn
for the better or worse. The historical changes from
policies, desegregation, parental involvement and
faculty accountability. These elements have a profound
effect not just on Raines, but Duval County Public Schools
and the move from a traditional Southern mentality towards
educational diversity and inclusion.

The Performance Poetry Summer Poetry Jam is a non-competitive event for ages 12 and up. On Wednesday, July 25th from 6pm to 7:30pm poetry will be performed, dramatized, expressed and illuminate the Main Library in the Hicks Auditorium.
