Cantina Laredo cooks dinner for residents-in-need at Community Connections | Restaurants
Employees and management from Cantina Laredo, a gourmet Mexican restaurant located in St. Johns Town Center, will be providing dinner on January 16 at 6 p.m. to children and families in need at Community Connections, a nonprofit dedicated to helping homelessness and fighting poverty in Jacksonville, Fla.
"Here at Cantina Laredo, we understand the importance of giving back to the community, which is why we are always looking for new opportunities to connect with Jacksonville on a more personal level, especially those in need,” said Patrick Grouss, Cantina Laredo’s General Manager.
This community outreach initiative is more than just a special meal. This offers the homeless and poverty-ridden families who live at Community Connections the opportunity to enjoy an upscale dining experience.
“We are so thankful that we have the support of Cantina Laredo. The women and children that live in the Florence N. Davis Center sometimes only eat meals that can be heated up in a microwave – like macaroni and cheese,” said Donna O’Steen, Director of Volunteer Services and Database Manager at Community Connections. “This is a special treat for them!”
Outreach, similar to this, is the just the beginning of efforts where Cantina Laredo will be actively helping out those in need in the greater Jacksonville area through donations and volunteerism.
