JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Luther Delp, a 61 year old paraplegic Jacksonville resident, is the first recipient of rehabilitation equipment from the newly formed JT Townsend Foundation.

Delp, was injured in 2009 when his motorcycle was hit from behind by an under-insured driver. The JTTF is giving him an Easy Stand Glider, which will allow Delp to improve his circulation, build up his arm strength and also allow him the simple pleasure of standing eye to eye with family and visitors.

J.T. Townsend, is a local student-athlete paralyzed in a 2004 high school football game, he decided to give back to the community by creating the J.T. Townsend Foundation (JTTF), to provide financial assistance and/or adaptive equipment to North Florida children and adults with disabilities.

Townsend is now a senior at the University of Florida, he is in the process of recovering from a life-changing spinal cord injury.
