JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A motorcyclist has died after an overnight crash in Arlington.
The crash happened before 2 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Mayapple Road and Townsend Boulevard off Merrill Road.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the motorcyclist ran off the road, hit a wooden fence and then a crape myrtle tree, ejecting both him and his passenger.
Shannon Hartley, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the motorcyclist, identified as 46-year-old Anthony Feliciano, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries, Hartley said.
Neither of the two were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
