Melissa Bujeda, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, said there were no students killed or injured.  Bujeda confirmed it appeared to be a murder-suicide.

After lunch Schumerth, who had been fired earlier in the day, returned to Episcopal's campus, according to JSO Undersheriff Dwain Senterfitt.

"He went to the headmaster Dale Regan, basically had an assault rifle in a guitar case. He (Schumerth) shot and killed Miss Regan and the he killed himself," said Senterfitt.

An automated phone message from the school sent out to parents said Episcopal High School would be closed for the rest of the week.  The closure will be extended by the school's already scheduled spring break.  Classes are scheduled to resume March 19th.

The school will provide counseling and pastoral care to its students, faculty, staff and school community according to an email sent out by Episcopal School of Jacksonville.  A candlelight vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. at local Episcopal churches.
