JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The same man may be behind two sexual assaults, one along Arlington Expressway, police said at a news conference Wednesday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office described the suspect as a black male with a light complexion between 25 and 35 years old.

Police released two similar composite sketches from descriptions given by two different female victims.

"Two does not constitute a series of rapes, but it is alarming," said Chief of Detectives Tom Hackney.

The first assault was around 4:30 a.m. Dec. 4 on Philips Highway. The second was around 10:20 a.m. Dec 9 on the Arlington Expressway.

Both victims said the suspect used excessive force and is driving a hunter green Taurus between the years of 1999 and 2002 with a "stinky interior."

"There was a considerable amount of physical force used during the crimes, the sexual batteries, and it is alarming to us, so we're asking for help," said Hackney.
