JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man who spent three hours in a standoff with the SWAT team surrendered just after 9 a.m.  Nobody was injured.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has not released the identity of the suspect, but said he is 38 years old at lives at the home on Woodsage Court with his parents.

Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect in the East Arlington home before sunrise this morning, and his parents were in the home at the time, according to JSO Lt. Mike Beckman.

The man let his parents go early in the negotiation with the SWAT team, and Beckman said they had not been hostages.

Police evacuated nearby homes following the gunfire, and one neighbor said he heard about a half dozen shots.
