JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Three dogs died and a mobile home was badly burned in a fire in the Arlington area Saturday afternoon.

Jacksonville fire crews responded to the blaze in the 500 block of Brookview drive just after noon. Neighborhood children from across the street smelled smoke and told an adult to call 911.

The family was not home at the time of the fire.

Fire crews tell First Coast News that they do not know what started the fire at this point.

The mobile home damage is described as severe and likely a total loss.
