Jacksonville University Dance to perform in the Caribbean

Jacksonville University Dance of Florida will perform an evening of modern dance choreography at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Teatro Luna Blou theater in Willemstad, Curacao.

The dancers will be in Curacao for one week teaching and taking classes with local dancers and performing as part of a College Study Abroad program led by JU professor Cari Coble.

One Jacksonville University film team used humor to broach the topic of sex, while the other got deadly serious about the subject of fire. Both wound up getting invited to show their student short subjects during the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

AIDS Memorial Quilt to be displayed at Jacksonville University March 7-8

Jacksonville University students will not only be able to view a portion of the storied AIDS Memorial Quilt when it’s displayed on campus next week, they’ll be able to see and help it grow in size as well.

JU professors Dennis Stouse and Stephen Baker worked with the North Florida Quilt Chapter to have panels from the massive quilt available for public viewing at the campus’ Kinne University Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 7-8.

Iconic figures of Black History visited Andrew Robinson Elementary
during  Black History Month.

Students from Andrew Robinson Elementary, Highlands Elementary,
SOS Academy and several churches were in awe as historical figures
gazed with prominence and stood stately and impressive during Black
History Month at Andrew Robinson Elementary School in Jacksonville,
Florida.
