Northeast Florida Veg Fest Nov. 6th

The very first Northeast Florida Veg Fest will take place Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 10:00am-5:00pm at Riverside Park and from 11am-7pm at the 5-Points Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida.

Thousands are expected to turn out to this unique happening overflowing with earth- and animal-friendly food, movies, music, speakers, celebrity events, kids’ activities, animal adoptions and cooking demos! The day-long event is FREE and open to the public and leashed companion animals.

Sprinkled throughout the day are nationally-known presenters like Melisser, the Urban Housewife and Nathan Runkle from Mercy for Animals. What could be more fun than a celebrity veggie-dog eating contest as The John Earle Band and Polygons tunes fill the air?  Did we mention food? How yummy does Bite Me Gourmet Cupcakes or Present Moment Café sound? And you absolutely won’t want to miss the movie premiere of FORKS OVER KNIVES playing in the 5-Points Theatre while enjoying a veg-friendly concession.

Following Veg Fest you’re invited to Hovan’s in Five Points at 8:00 for a delectable after-party “Celery”-bration with complimentary veggie Mediterranean appetizers and a cash bar.

The best of green, animal-friendly businesses like Jacksonville Health and Wellness and Arbonne, along with non-profits like CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm are coming together to celebrate this planet and all of its inhabitants. So come and be part of it!

The Girls Gone Green is presenting this debut Northeast Florida Veg Fest, hosted by Northeast Florida Vegetarian Society and Saving Animals Via Education. We invite everyone interested in becoming leaner, greener, or cleaner to come enjoy this day of family fun and positive action. You know, we’re all in this together. Find out how fun and delicious exploring that connection can be. See you at Veg Fest!
