JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- All lanes of Fort Caroline Road have reopened after a car wreck involving a police vehicle.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office car was rear-ended on Fort Caroline Road, then hit a car in front of it around 4 p.m. today.

It happened in the westbound lanes between St. Johns Bluff Road and Monument Road.

Police at the scene said the officer in the JSO vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries. Charges are pending in the wreck.

Fort Caroline westbound lanes were closed near St. Johns Bluff Road for about two hour hours, tying up traffic. The eastbound lanes were also closed for a brief time.
